The owner of Shear Black, Ciara Pannell, is a licensed healthy hair stylist specializing in cutting and extensions. Ciara studied Cosmetology at Excel Academies of Cosmetology in Troy, and continued her education after receiving her license by studying under industry leading professionals to perfect her craft. Her attention to detail and on trend styling leaves each and every one of her guests feeling gorgeous and full of confidence. Ciara is a young woman determined to grace each guest with outstanding customer service and professionally maintained hair health.
Shear Black Gives Back
Shear Black gives back to young women in need in our community. $5 from each appointment reserved on Fridays will be donated to the Alternatives for Girls Home in Detroit. If you'd like to help out even more, donation drop offs are appreciated and will be accepted at Shear Black and dropped off monthly. Donation examples are feminine hygiene products, seasonal clothing, healthy snacks, new undergarments, and craft supplies. We appreciate your support of Shear Black and helping us to help the community.

Because she cares about the integrity of your hair first and foremost, Ciara chooses to use only plant derived and/or organic products during your services with her. Eliminating harsh chemicals, additives and sulfates helps to keep your CROWN healthy from root to end. After visiting, guests can expect their hair to be soft to the touch, provide a shine on its own, and be nothing short of BEAUTIFUL.
